Great Western Americana & Roots Music

Playing stringed instruments along with harmonica, cigar-enhanced vocals, and foot-stomping percussion, Jalan fills the sonic space of a small ensemble. Quirky original songs and traditional tunes recall the sounds of John Hartford, Doc Watson, and John Prine.

Jalan Crossland: Vocals, Guitar, Banjo, Harmonica, Foot Percussion, Yearns, Lies, and Exaggerations

Along with dozens of regional contest awards, Jalan Crossland’s extraordinary guitar playing has earned National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship honors, the State Flatpick Championship title of his home state, and in recognition of his contribution to the arts in Wyoming, he was the first musician bestowed with the Governor’s Arts Award. Magazines as far-ranging as the New York Times and No Depression have run features on him. He’s been invited as the opening act on two national tours with Texas songwriting legend Robert Earl Keen, and has shared stages with Taj Mahal, Steve Earl, John Hartford, Earl Scruggs, and countless other top Americana acts.

“A wonderful performance! Jalan Crossland was killer. He played things that I wish I knew how to play!” -John McEwen, NITTY GRITTY DIRT BAND
