The Perfect Independence Day Concert of Resilience and Resistance
From the streets of America in the 60s came songs of love, peace, equality, civil rights, challenges to power and authority as well as commentaries on community building. We are taking it inside from the streets and to the stage to honor a time when artists spoke out to make a difference and change the course of history. The Vietnam War ended a few years later, civil rights laws were passed, and a trajectory was set to impeach a president. The people rose up and the music had a lot to do with their motivation.
We were there … and we are still protesting injustice and inequality 60 years later. We invite you to stop on in and sing with us and join the musical movement!
Holding court will be sisters in their sixties and beyond:
Patty Peterson: Vocals
Ginger Commodore: Vocals
Judi Vinar: Vocals
Lori Dokken: Piano and Vocals
