Junior Williams moved from Kingston to the US with the dream of fusing music from his home island with international and American genres to contribute to the One Love movement. Based in the Twin Cities and Eau Claire, Irie Sol’s members hail from Belize, Brazil, Ecuador, Italy, Jamaica, Nepal, South Korea, Tanzania, and all over America. Irie Sol’s album made Pamela Espeland’s (bebopified.com) 10 best jazz albums of the year & was awarded 4 out of 5 Stars from the Financial Times of London for blending classic literature and music into “lit hop.” Irie Sol has shared the stage with Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Wyclef, the Wailers, and others. Irie Sol’s music has been featured on the BBC, CBS, Converge Radio, KFAI, KMOJ, MPR, and WCCO.
