Shane Cox & the Funky Spuds bring a fresh groove to the Twin Cities scene in their mission to elevate brass-driven music. With a sound that fuses jazz, funk, and a little New Orleans swagger, the band unites some of Minneapolis’ top jazz and funk talent.

Shane Cox is a multi-instrumentalist, performing on trumpet, trombone, and slide trumpet. After high school, Shane drove to New Orleans to perform on the streets with the local brass bands. He then travelled across the country performing as a modern day troubadour. Shane is making a splash in Minneapolis as a bandleader and performer with his musical projects Heavy Metal Brass Band, Shane Cox & the Funky Spuds, and Funky Spuds Brass Band.
