‘Joe Pulice Salutes Buddy Rich’ is a high voltage concert with an all-star 15-piece band from the Twin Cities. This performance will highlight the music that Buddy Rich made famous throughout his illustrious career as the best big band drummer in the world. Drummer Joe Pulice, one of the region’s elite musicians, has toured with Woody Herman and The Thundering Herd in 1986 and has won two Minnesota Jazz Music Awards. Joe was a 10-year-member of world-renowned drummer, Eric Kamau Gravatt’s group, Kamanari; a 20-year-member of JazzMN Orchestra; and is currently playing with the Adi Yeshaya Jazz Orchestra.
The Twin Cities Jazz Fest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission of bringing communities together to enjoy and appreciate the art form of jazz and inspire new generations of youth. What started as a small one-day event in downtown Minneapolis 26 years ago has grown into one of the largest free civic jazz festivals in the upper Midwest.
