The 1920s Songbook with Maud Hixson and Rick Carlson

Classic Great American Songbook Jazz
This evening of songs born in the decade of the 1920s will include the slang, the stories, the songwriters and the singers of that era that shimmied and bootlegged and celebrated leaving the Great War behind. Hear classics like “Blue Skies”, “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love” and “Fascinatin’ Rhythm”. This decade was rich in Broadway shows, Tin Pan Alley hits and songwriters such as Irving Berlin and the Gershwins were also “going Hollywood”.
