Quarteto Carioca brings a range of songs from the contemporary Brazilian repertoire–samba jazz, Brazilian popular music, and other traditional genres with a contemporary influence. With vocals sung in Portuguese and Brazilian percussion, the Quarteto brings lesser-known songs and arrangements from great composers of Brazil such as João Donato, Ivan Lins, Airto Moreira, and others.

QC is led by Daniel Williams, a native of St. Paul who grew up in a musical family. He has been playing and singing Brazilian music for two decades, with several trips to Brazil over those years. He has performed as both leader and member of various local groups at venues such as Icehouse, Metronome Brewery, and Jazz Central Studios.
