Primarily a figure from the 80’s Minneapolis and Los Angeles music scene, Bobby Vandell is one of the architects of the “Minneapolis Sound”, and has been awarded 5 gold and platinum albums. He played regionally with Lamont Cranston, The TC Jammers, The Doug Maynard Band, Mick Sterling & the Stud Brothers, Dr Mambos Combo, The Hoopsnakes, Ipso Facto and Nationally with Bonnie Raitt, Roy Buchanan, The Dazz Band, The Horn Heads, Gypsy, Jesse Johnson’s Revue, Alexander O’Neal, Cherrelle, and Lipps Inc of Funkytown fame and is also the last drummer to play with Prince in public.
