TCJazzFest: Kevin Gamble Presents a Tribute to Ray Charles

Growing up Kevin Gamble’s biggest musical influence was the amazing genius that is Ray Charles. Kevin is so excited to be doing this tribute concert honoring Ray Charles for the Twin Cities Jazz Fest. Joining the band as a special guest on lead vocals will be Robyn Charles, the daughter of legendary singer and musician Ray Charles.
From Kevin: “As a kid growing up listening to him as a singer, composer, musician and a band leader really impacted me in an incredible way and pushed me to want to have my own musical career being a musician, band leader, and composer.” Joining Kevin in the band are Tarek Abdelqader (Drums), Andrew Tomten (Sax), Nick Benish (Bass) and Frank Merchlewitz (Organ/Aux).
The Twin Cities Jazz Fest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission of bringing communities together to enjoy and appreciate the art form of jazz and inspire new generations of youth. What started as a small one-day event in downtown Minneapolis 27 years ago has grown into one of the largest free civic jazz festivals in the upper Midwest.
