Peter Kogan backed up blues masters Lightnin’ Hopkins, Floyd Jones, Honeyboy Edwards and Jimmy Witherspoon, appeared with the Larry Elgart Big Band and played with jazz, rock and blues bands in New York City before joining the Minnesota Orchestra as Principal Timpanist from 1986-2015. In recent years he has released four well reviewed jazz CDs. and has appeared at all the major jazz venues around the region, including the Twin Cities Jazz Festival. Peter’s new CD Just Before Midnight was released in June 2022 and features his most recent compositions.
